Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Suren Papikyan today had a meeting with Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Dazhu Yang on the sidelines of the 64th regular session of the General Conference of the IAEA in Vienna.
The interlocutors discussed a broad range of issues related to the development of atomic energy in Armenia and particularly touched upon the plan for extension of the period of planned exploitation of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant and increase of safety.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the course of implementation of the programs being carried out within the scope of technical assistance that the IAEA is providing to Armenia.
They also touched upon issues related to the development of the professional potential in the atomic energy sector and training of personnel through joint programs in Armenia.
