YEREVAN. – No one has touched upon my candidacy as the President of the Constitutional Court yet. Yervand Khundkaryan, recently elected Judge of the Constitutional Court of Armenia, stated this Wednesday in a conversation with journalists outside the Court.

Asked whether he wants to become the new president of the Constitutional Court, he said that at the moment he has no decision on either nomination or non-nomination, and there has been no respective discussion. "The discussion will be in the working session," he added.

To the question as to whether the crisis in the Constitutional Court will continue if the court’s preceding president Hrayr Tovmasyan is nominated as the president of the Court, Khundkaryan responded: "The person who will be elected in the working session by secret ballot, the solution will be in accordance with the requirements of the law."

Also, Yervand Khundkaryan stated that no guarantee was given that he would be the new president of the Constitutional Court.
