Throughout the two years of his term of office, President of the Constitutional Court of Armenia Hrayr Tovmasyan has carried out his activities in such a way that there hasn’t been any problem with the regular activities of the Constitutional Court. This is what judge of the Constitutional Court Arevik Petrosyan told reporters in front of the Constitutional Court today. “There were normal human and employment relations. Over the past two years, the Constitutional Court has been in the most difficult situations. During this period, we have implemented our mission and justice while Hrayr Tovmasyan was serving as President of the Constitutional Court,” she said.

“Taking the opportunity, I would like to express gratitude to Mr. Tovmasyan for performing his duties and exercising his powers at a high level over the past two years. I would like to thank my three colleagues whose powers were terminated as a result of the constitutional amendments and on the ground of expiry of the term of powers. They are currently working on restoring their violated constitutional rights, we’ll see how the events develop,” she said, adding that the Constitutional Court was operating regularly until June 26 of this year.

Today the judges of the Constitutional Court will elect a new President and Vice-President of the Constitutional Court during a procedural session.
