We again have a worsening of situation in connection with the coronavirus. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the government of Armenia.

"This, of course, is connected with the increase in people's mobility. We have agreed that the inspection bodies and the police will tighten the control. But on the other hand, we need to understand that we have 'red lines;' the 'red line' is when our hospital capacity is exhausted. Then we will try to make other decisions. In June we had a very large hospital capacity; they can return to coronavirus service at any time," Pashinyan added.

In his turn, the Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan said, in particular: "If the situation worsens, the entire resource—which is 2,700 to 2,800 ordinary beds and 300 intensive-care-unit [beds]—can start working again."

Torosyan noted that the lowest number of COVID-19 patients in Armenia was on September 11, after which the numbers began to increase.
