In response to an inquiry from Armenian News-NEWS.am, the Ministry of Health of Armenia reported that the personnel of schools began to get tested for COVID-19 starting from September 3.

“As of September 16, 2020, as a result of checkups conducted in schools, 1.5% of the tested personnel have tested positive for COVID-19,” the ministry reported.

The ministry isn’t providing data on the total number of people who have gotten tested in schools across the country and how many of them are teachers, saying that other statistical data are being processed and will be summed up after testing is over.

Armenian News-NEWS.am also asked if people are tested for the second time after the result is positive, and what decision is made if the result is negative, to which the ministry said the following: “If a person tests positive for COVID-19 the first time, he or she doesn’t get tested again.”
