Newly elected judge of the Constitutional Court of Armenia Edgar Shatiryan today told reporters that the Court’s judge Yervand Khundkaryan is the only candidate for President and that the procedural session of the Constitutional Court will resume tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.

Shatiryan added that a vote has yet to be held and stated that one candidate was self-nominated, but recused.

Shatiryan didn’t refute the media’s news that the candidate nominated by judge of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan is Ashot Khachatrya and that the self-nominated candidate is Yervand Khundkaryan.

Asked why the session is taking so long, the judge stated that he believes it’s normal since each judge has questions and added that he also has some questions for Khundkaryan. When asked why he hadn’t wanted to nominate himself, Shatiryan said he hadn’t found it appropriate.
