The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic welcomes and thanks the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region of France for its persistent support and humanitarian assistance to the people of Artsakh, the Ministry on Saturday noted this in a statement on Facebook.

"During yesterday October 16 session of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes regional council in France, it decided to provide 100,000 euros in humanitarian aid to Artsakh to assist the Armenian population.

In his speech at the sitting, the president of the region, Laurent Wauquiez, particularly noted: Artsakh needs us today. Armenia needs us. And this is the moment when we should not be neutral before our own duties, but on the contrary, we should provide help.

Today an entire population is being bombed. Although it is not easy to make a decision, we do not shy away from this difficulty and we are obliged to help Armenian families.

The Armenians stood with France when we needed it. Today, at the level of our region, we can provide this modest assistance in response to the expectations of the Armenian community.'
