Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) President Arayik Haroutyunyan on Monday received a parliamentary delegation of the Alternative for Germany party, consisting of Bundestag members Stefan Keuter and Steffen Kotre, and Brandenburg regional parliament members Andreas Kalbitz and Andreas Galau.

The President thanked these German lawmakers for visiting Artsakh on their own initiative and studying on location the problems of the Armenians of Artsakh during this difficult period of the war, expressing hope that these would be objectively presented to the German people and authorities.

For his part, Bundestag member Steffen Kotre presented to the delegation’s impressions on the aftermath of the Azerbaijani aggression, noting that what Azerbaijan is doing with the help of Turkey and terrorist organizations is a great crime against humanity, and the international community must properly react to it.

According to the German MP, the best way to counter Baku’s position of resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by force may be the international recognition of Artsakh's independence.

During the meeting, the situation and the need to give it a political assessment were discussed.
