The US Department of State did not comment on an article published in the media on Monday about the possible holding of two separate meetings between Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Jeyhun Bayramov and Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, on October 23 amid the escalation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The State Department press service did not respond to TASS’ request to confirm or comment on the press on the information about this meeting—and which was previously published by Politico, citing its sources. According to them, the Secretary of State will first hold talks with the FM of Azerbaijan, then with his Armenian counterpart.

The situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone escalated on September 27, and fighting is taking place on the line of contact.
