The Armenian community of Austria supports Artsakh's (Nagorno-Karabakh) right to self-determination through demonstrations, fundraisers, and public and political campaigns. Thanks to the representatives of the Armenian community, the Austrian parliament has passed a resolution condemning Turkey's involvement in the current Karabakh war.

“With that resolution, a call was made for an end to the war. And we hope that the political authorities in Austria will continue to put pressure on Turkey and Azerbaijan,” said Gevorg Hakopjyan, a representative of the Armenian National Committee of Austria, speaking to Hayern Aysor (Armenians Today).

A cultural event, entitled "Peace to Artsakh," took place at the Vienna Opera Square. More than 10 world-famous artists performed, and Armenian music was played.

“Our recent work has entered a new phase. In the sense that we have begun to clearly demand Austria to recognize the right of the people of Artsakh to self determination and independence of Artsakh,” Hakopjyan added.

He informed that the local Armenian community is regularly reminded of the need to make donations to the Hayastan All Armenian Fund and the 1000 Plus Foundations, to which 150 thousand euros were donated in recent days.
