President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and leader of Iran Hassan Rouhani discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict during their telephone negotiations, as reported RIA Novosti, citing the administration of the Turkish leader.

It is stated that the issues on the development of relations between Turkey and Iran and cooperation in the fight against terrorism were discussed during the negotiations. The Turkish and Iranian leaders also discussed regional issues, including the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and Syria.

“Erdogan also supported the implementation of joint operations with Iran to fight against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) banned in Turkey, as well as to ensure the ceasefire regime in Syria’s Idlib,” the press release reads.
