Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan today received the delegation led by deputies of the National Assembly of France, the Armenian MFA reported.

Greeting the guests, Minister Mnatsakanyan highly appreciated the French lawmakers’ visit and their solidarity shown in this major period for the Armenians of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). The French MPs shared their impressions of the meetings they had with Armenia’s and Artsakh’s top officials during their visit.

The focus was on the situation created as a result of the military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. Mnatsakanyan called the guests’ attention to the Azerbaijani Armed Forces’ gross violations of international humanitarian law and their several war crimes.

Touching upon Turkey’s increasing negative involvement in the region that is expressed through its direct military-technical support to Azerbaijan and the deployment of foreign armed terrorists in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, Mnatsakanyan stressed that this is not only a direct threat to the existential security of the people of Artsakh, but also security and stability in the region.

In this context, Mnatsakanyan highly appreciated the efforts that the French deputies are making to speak out about the importance of condemnation of the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression and recognition of the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination.

The foreign minister and MPs underscored the need for unconditional implementation of the agreements reached for immediate cessation of fire in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
