Commander of a company, Senior Lieutenant Margar Saribekyan has been presented for the 2nd Degree Order of the Combat Cross for striking four Azerbaijani tanks.

“Starting from 5 in the morning of October 13, Azerbaijan was using heavy artillery. At 6:40 a.m. I noticed how the group was coming down. I ordered to shoot them. We approached the group, massacred them, and then they tried to attack us in the front. Again, in the same way, the adversary was attacking us with a 200-member group. We destroyed them, and the shelling continued,” Margar Saribekyan said.

The enemy made multiple strikes with forces exceeding the number of the Armenian forces in the given sector of the fighting, but faced the resistance of the frontline units of the Defense Army of Artsakh and was thwarted, leaving a few hundred bodies on the battlefield.

“Their goal was to invade with a group, pass our rear, put us in a trap, destroy us, take our positions and move forward,” Saribekyan said.

The battles sometimes took place at a distance of 15-20 meters. Margar and his men destroyed all special detachment soldiers.
