There is no panic. All the standard and initially planned activities that need to be implemented in such situations are being implemented. This is what Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia Garegin Baghramyan told reporters in parliament today, touching upon the comment that months ago Azerbaijan declared that it is ready to target the Armenian nuclear power plant and in response to a question about the current situation of the nuclear power plant.

“During martial law, alongside the nuclear power plant, there are also capacities so that there won’t be problems with electricity supply, if it is necessary to stop operation of the nuclear power plant,” he said.

As far as stoppage of operation of the nuclear power plant for 140 days is concerned, Baghramyan said it is envisaged to implement rather large-scale activities in 2021, and due to this, the nuclear power plant will be stopped for a much longer period than usual.
