YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian on Saturday met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, in Yerevan.

In particular, President Sarkissian thanked the Russian Foreign Minister, first of all, for all that he has been doing for Armenia and the region all these years. Also, the Armenian President asked the Russian FM to convey his and the Armenian people's gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin, especially for his support during these difficult days.

In his remarks, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov particularly noted: "The negotiations that are taking place here today enable us to consider all areas of our ties and agree on how to deepen them, how to make them more effective—first and foremost for our citizens."

The President of Armenia and the Foreign Minister of Russia touched also upon some other matters that are on the agenda of Armenian-Russian cooperation.
