The Russian military continues demining in the areas of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)], reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Accordingly, humanitarian demining of territories in Karabakh started on Monday.

"Russian engineering units are involved in engineering search and demining of routes between peacekeeping observation posts and public roads," the respective statement also said.

It is being clarified that the sapper works are taking place in the vicinity of the settlements and their social infrastructures.

The Russian Ministry of Defense added that the ammunition and explosives that are found are destroyed.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities— which Azerbaijan had launched on September 27—in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers are deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities.
