The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has refuted news that dozens of Azerbaijani soldiers entered the territory of Sotk gold mine in Vardenis and demanded that the Armenians leave the territory.

In an interview with Armenpress, Spokesperson of the Prime Minister Mane Gevorgyan also refuted the news and stated that it doesn’t correspond to reality.

Earlier, independent deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia Taguhi Tovmasyan had informed that the Azerbaijanis had broken the gates placed near the entrance to Karvachar yesterday and had entered the territory of Armenia.

Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that nearly 250 Azerbaijani servicemen, including high-ranking servicemen in Israeli armored vehicles came, entered the territory of the mine where there were seven fixed-term servicemen, said the territory was theirs and told them to leave. The servicemen called different representatives on the phone, but there was no response. The administration of the mine was compelled to go and negotiate with the Azerbaijanis. It didn’t know what to say and tried to contact the relevant authorities, but there was no response. The administration asked and convinced the Azerbaijanis to wait and see what happens, and the Azerbaijanis said the administration and servicemen must not be at the mine when they come tomorrow.

Deputy of the Prosperous Armenia faction of the National Assembly Shake Isayan disseminated the video showing Azerbaijani vehicles moving towards the territory of Armenia, and journalist/analyst Davit Jalalyan posted a video showing Azerbaijani soldiers in the territory of Sotk gold mine.
