YEREVAN. – Is Armenia's number one issue to deprive [opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader, MP, and business tycoon Gagik] Tsarukyan of his [parliamentary] mandate? Can one not care about priorities? PAP MP Gevorg Petrosyan asked these questions at Friday’s press conference.

"Now I ask him a question: [PM] Nikol Pashinyan, what steps are you taking so that the [Armenian] POWs are returned [from Azerbaijan]? (…). And after all that, not only does he [Pashinyan] not resign, but also makes some personnel changes," Petrosyan added.

According to him, the situation is very dire. " I don’t consider the Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)] issue to be resolved now; nevertheless, I hope that there will still be negotiations. (…). He [Pashinyan] is ready to cut people's heads to keep his power," he said.

And commenting on Azerbaijani armed forces entering the territory of Sotk gold mine, Gevorg Petrosyan asked where the National Security Service was that did not report that the Azerbaijanis were approaching the Vardenis region of Armenia

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities— which Azerbaijan had launched on September 27—in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers are deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
