Nikol Pashinyan received representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) led by Head of the ICRC Delegation in Armenia Claire Meytraud, the Government of Armenia reported.

The Prime Minister expressed concern over the amount of work being done to ensure the return of prisoners of war and search for missing persons and bodies. he underscored the need to increase the resources, including human resources of the ICRC and stated the importance of provision of information by the ICRC about the condition, health and conditions for keeping of captives on a regular basis.

Meytraud thoroughly talked about the course of implementation of the ICRC’s activities, provided information about her meeting with Armenian captives and expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh (Defense Army and Ministry of Emergency Situations), the Ministry of Defense of Armenia and Russian peacekeepers.

In regard to the daily activities to find missing persons and bodies, Meytraud particularly underscored the importance of the map with markings in specific locations provided by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. As for search efforts, Meytraud mentioned the existence of mined areas and the bad weather as obstacles.
