Director of the Department of Immunization, Vaccines and Biologicals at the World Health Organization Kate O’Brien says nearly 60-70% of the world’s population needs to be immune or be vaccinated in order for the world to overcome the spread of the coronavirus, TASS reported.

O’Brien added that, in the current situation, it is necessary to take into consideration the ability of the vaccines to not only ensure preventive protection, but also prevent the transmission of the virus.

According to her, there have been various types of studies and simulations, but it is hard to make more thorough predictions regarding the given situation.
