The relatives of the conscripts are protesting Saturday in front of the main building of the government of Armenia.

They demand that the servicemen who went through the recent Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) war be immediately discharged and sent back to Armenia.

One parent stated that five of them had met with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Friday, but the meeting had not satisfied them. "The prime minister asked for two days, but the negotiating parents had come out convinced that there will be a negative response [two days later]," she added in particular.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities— which Azerbaijan had launched on September 27—in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers are deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
