YEREVAN. – At Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, the government of Armenia approved the social assistance measure to reimburse the costs of temporary hosts to adult citizens who are registered in communities now outside of Artsakh's (Nagorno-Karabakh) control following Azerbaijan’s recent hostilities against Artsakh.

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mesrop Arakelyan informed that under this measure, social assistance shall be provided free of charge, with a monthly allowance of AMD 30,000 for each hosted citizen if the host accommodation is in Armenia, and AMD 45,000 if it is in Artsakh.

The expenses shall be reimbursed for six months.

Arakelyan added, however, that these reimbursements will not be provided as rent and will not be taxed.
