The Twitter social network has updated its rules governing the ban on hate speech on the platform, including in the list of degrading human dignity messages containing discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, and national origin, RIA Novosti reported.

This policy already includes a ban on speech that degrades human dignity on the basis of religion, caste, age, disability, and disease. Research confirms that language that degrades human dignity can cause real harm, and Twitter wants to ensure that more people around the world are protected.

The social network, after receiving notifications of the presence on the platform of messages with similar content, will require users to delete such tweets. The company also intends to use automated mechanisms to detect potentially violating posts.
