The World Health Organization on Friday warned governments and citizens of countries not to lose their vigilance in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, as the vaccination period is now close, Reuters reported.

WHO experts believe that health systems may still stall under the pressure of the pandemic.

The UK on Wednesday approved a coronavirus vaccine from Pfizer, raising hopes as the pandemic will soon end, which has killed about 1.5 million people worldwide.

The progress in vaccination has cheered us all up and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. However, WHO is concerned about the growing perception that the pandemic is over, said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

According to him, the pandemic is still far from the end, and decisions made by governments and countries can determine the course of its further advance.
