Today I was re-elected first deputy chairman of one of the most important PACE committees—the Committee on Human Rights and Legal Affairs. Edmon Marukyan, chairman of the opposition Bright Armenia Party, head of its parliamentary faction, and member of the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), on Wednesday wrote this on Facebook.

"The chairman of the committee has 3 deputies. My candidacy was nominated by the PACE Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) political group. The Committee on Human Rights and Legal Affairs consists of 91 members representing the national parliaments of the 47 member states of the CoE [(Council of Europe)]. The committee has 3 subcommittees," Marukyan added.
