The fall of Shushi came as a surprise for me. This is what Artsrun Hovhannisyan, who was a representative of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia during the war, told reporters today.

“I was in Shushi on November 6th. According to information from the Ministry of Defense, the situation in Shushi changed drastically on the 7th, 8th and 9th of November. The first blow was very heavy, and it was dealt by many military units, including the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense,” he said.

Touching upon the reasons for defeat in the war, Hovhannisyan stated the following: “Unfortunately, we Armenians were defeated, and this needs to be studied in detail. I am trying to clarify all the circumstances. We were fighting against Turkey. It was after the war that I realized how much Turkey participated in the war and what technologies it used. Turkey used 5G technologies, not Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan failed to defeat the Armenian army in the summer, but Turkey became involved in the war that broke out in September.”

Nevertheless, Hovhannisyan emphasized that there are many troubling issues related to the war, including organization, tactics, the operations of specific soldiers and more.
