YEREVAN. – The charge against former Minister of Defense Mikael Harutyunyan has been re-qualified at the Special Investigation Service (SIS) of Armenia; this was informed by the SIS in response to a query from Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Instead of Article 300.1 of the Criminal Code, Harutyunyan is now a defendant under Section 3 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code, the SIS said.

Former Minister of Defense Mikael Harutyunyan was charged for overthrowing the constitutional order during the tragic events of March 1, 2008 in Yerevan, arrest was selected as a pretrial measure against him, and he was internationally declared wanted.
