YEREVAN. – The April tax revenues, including stamp payments, have amounted to about 180 billion drams; this is a historic record of tax revenues for Armenia for one month. Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at Thursday's Cabinet meeting of the interim government of the country.

"[But] there is a little ‘trick’ here. You recall that last year, in connection with the coronavirus infection, we gave a chance—through regulations—not to pay profit tax prepayments; and this decision also had a certain [positive] impact on the [tax] collections [in Armenia]. This is not bad, but good because, in fact, the previously made decision has been justified. In difficult times, we have made it possible for the money, which the businesses had to pay, to stay in circulation and help to be in a better position in times of crisis.

I would also like to remind that in the first quarter, we exceeded the revenue part of the [state] budget by about 22 billion drams. I hope we will not only be able to maintain this pace, but also increase it," the acting PM added.
