Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg presented a report on the situation of sexual minorities in member states on Wednesday, marking the registered discrimination towards LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender).

According to the report 9 out of 47 Council member states, do not have comprehensive legislation on non-discrimination based on sexual orientation. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Russian Federation, San Marino, Turkey and Ukraine are among these states.

The report also notes that 25 members of the Council of Europe do not recognize same-sex marriages, while in 35 member states same-sex couples are not allowed to adopt children, reports for-ua.com.
