The United States will provide financial and humanitarian aid to Afghanistan following the withdrawal of US troops from the Islamic Republic, US Special Representative for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad told Der Spiegel.

According to him, Afghanistan will be among the first recipients of the US and foreign aid, which includes support for Afghan security forces, development assistance, and humanitarian aid.

The Afghan security forces are a national institution worthy of support, and we will continue to support them and provide them with the financial assistance they need.

He noted that the United States will make every effort to end the violence in Afghanistan.

In the absence of such an agreement and the continuation of hostilities, according to Khalilzad, the situation could worsen greatly.

He added that the United States will continue to closely follow the development of events.
