YEREVAN. – The political forces that will be running in the snap parliamentary elections on June 20 are busy setting up their campaign headquarters in Armenia.

According to various sources, the election campaign headquarters of the "Armenia" bloc—led by second President Robert Kocharyan—will be headed by former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan.

Armenian News-NEWS.am inquired from the head of the second president's office whether these reports were true.

"Yes. Mr. Gevorgyan already carries out the functions of the head of the central headquarters. Sadly, he is a bit ill and still works from the hospital room, or from home. But I hope that he will recover very soon and start fulfilling his [respective] duties in full," said Viktor Soghomonyan. "I would like to take this opportunity to inform that the functions of the official representative of the ‘Armenia’ bloc will be carried out by [lawyer] Mr. Aram Vardevanyan; and in two or three days already, all those who will have questions about the headquarters, the bloc's activities will be able to address their questions to the official representative or the press service of the ‘Armenia’ bloc."

Soghomonyan added that the election campaign headquarters of the "Armenia" bloc will soon publicize its telephone numbers and Email address, through which the media and anyone can get information about the activities of this bloc.
