Yesterday I held a telephone conversation with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, and during that conversation, I didn’t ask the President of the Russian Federation for military aid, even though there is such an opportunity provided for by the contractual base of Armenia and Russia. This is what acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan declared during today’s special parliamentary session.

“I didn’t ask for military aid for a couple of reasons. First, in essence, we shared the same stances. The President of Russia said the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan must move away from the border of Armenia. There is a much more important thing. We reached an agreement that the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan must perform that action, that is, leave the territory of Armenia. The agreement has been partially implemented until now. Basically, there are points where the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan have left but since the agreement hasn’t been fully implemented, today I have addressed the President of the Russian Federation, and Russia will provide military aid to Armenia, in accordance with the 1997 Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance,” he said.
