The Chinese authorities have decided to revoke previously issued permits for climbing Mount Everest from Tibet - from the Chinese side, BBC reported.

The reason for the withdrawal of permits was fears that those who rise from the Nepalese side may be carriers of the coronavirus.

Earlier, it was about the installation of a dividing line at the top of the highest point of the planet to separate those who rise from the side of Tibet from the climbers from the side of Nepal, which is now experiencing a surge in the number of coronavirus infections. Over the past weekend alone, more than 30 people with suspected covid have been evacuated from the Everest base camp.
