The residents of Arteni village of Armenia’s Aragatsotn Province, who had closed off the Gyumri-Yerevan motorway Monday morning due to cutting off of their irrigation water, have reopened the road at the request of the village mayor and the police. Village resident Sevak Baghdasaryan told about this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

"Village head Andranik Papikyan telephoned the irrigation water service company representative, who said that they were to give the water on May 20, but since we telephoned, they will give the water on the 18th of the month, 1:30pm. But we want it now because our gardens will dry up during that time," Baghdasaryan said.

According to him, those from the provincial hall have promised to visit Arteni Monday to get familiarized with the problem on the spot.
