This year's largest Swedish-Finnish land military exercise Northen forest will begin in Lapland on May 24.

According to the Finnish information portal Yle, they will last three weeks and will involve 7,000 military personnel.

The Swedish military arrived in Finland in advance to undergo quarantine.

As noted in the defense ministry of Suomi, these exercises are held within the military-strategic concept of cooperation between Finland and Sweden. In recent years, both states have noted the particular importance of this kind of interaction and are striving to deepen military cooperation.
