YEREVAN. – Although construction of the Iran-Armenia power transmission line began in 2006, only 17 of the 711 towers were installed, and concrete was filled for another 35 by the year 2017. Hakob Vardanyan, Acting Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, stated this at Thursday’s special sitting of the National Assembly of Armenia.

According to him, at the moment, however, concrete has been filled for more than 550 of these towers. "About 450 towers have already been installed," the deputy minister added.

To note, the construction project of the Iran-Armenia power transmission line was initially planned to be completed by the end of 2018, but it was delayed. The last time this project was put off was in 2019, and it was announced that the construction would be completed by the end of 2020.
