Member states of the Eurasian Economic Union will finish preparing for negotiations over the free trade zone with Iran in late June. This was announced during the meeting of Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich and Minister of Energy of Iran Reza Ardakanian at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

“In December 2020, the Eurasian Economic Union made the decisions required for the launch of talks, and now the member states are forming the special mandate for talks. We hope to end the necessary procedures and start negotiations in late June 2021,” the press release of the Eurasian Economic Commission reads.
