At around 10:35am Wednesday, Vardan Kochyan, 61, an Armenian, opened fire on the judicial act enforcement officers who had arrived in connection with the demolition of shacks in the area of a garage construction company in Sochi, Russia.

During the respective argument, Kochyan, the co-founder of this company, shot these officers with a gun, Russian media reported.

According to preliminary information, the deceased officers were Albert Aghozyan, 35, and Andranik Matevosyan, 36, who also were Armenian.

According to open data, this garage construction company has been operating since the early 2000s. But instead of garages, residential areas have appeared in its premises, which were recognized by the court as unauthorized buildings. The co-founders of this company are Vardan and Mikhail Kochyan.

According to the BAZA Telegram channel, there were three judicial act enforcement officers at the scene, and one of them managed to escape. The shooter was the owner of the shop which was to be demolished by a court order. According to some reports, this man turned himself in to police after the murders.
