The EU should develop common rules in relations with Russia, said French President Emanuel Macron, RIA Novosti reported.

"We will return to the topic of Russia to discuss the common rules of relations with our neighbor and outline approaches to cooperation. We regularly face provocations, new conflicts, but we must realize the need to develop common rules in relations with Russia," Macron told a joint news conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel ahead of their talks in Berlin.

Earlier, the French president said that NATO needed a "demanding dialogue" with Russia to build security architecture in Europe.
