The Armavir Regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia today found out the circumstances behind the case of embezzlement on the part of the former principal of School #1 in the city of Metsamor as a result of large-scale investigative and other procedural actions.

As reported the Investigative Committee, according to the data obtained through investigation, the former school principal, using her official position between 1985 and 2014, signed an order to have her husband serve as a full-time, not part-time manager at the school, while the husband worked at another company full-time for five days, as a result of which he stole a particularly large amount of money (AMD 4,520,932) through embezzlement.

By combination of ample pieces of evidence, the former school principal and her husband are charged under relevant articles of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and signature to not leave the country has been chosen as a pre-trial measure.

The preliminary investigation is over, and the criminal case has been forwarded to the court along with the indictment.
