Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will discuss the return of refugees to Nagorno-Karabakh with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi. Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova reported that Filippo Grandi will visit Moscow on June 28.

“It is planned to discuss a broad range of issues related to the international protection of refugees, internally displaced and stateless persons, including in the conditions of the pandemic, as well as various aspects of the cooperation between Russia and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. The possible involvement of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in ensuring the return of refugees and internally displaced persons to Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions, facilitating the repatriation of citizens of Syria through mobilization of the international community’s efforts, providing assistance to refugees and internally displaced persons from Donbas and solving the issues of masses of stateless persons in Near Baltic countries will be in focus,” Zakharova stated.
