Honduras moved its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as part of an effort to strengthen ties with the Jewish state, becoming the fourth country to do so.

Honduras has already opened a commercial office in Jerusalem, violating a decades-long policy of neutrality in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, AFP reports.

Israel is set to open a diplomatic office in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras.

Honduras faced difficulties getting the Covid-19 vaccine to fight the pandemic, but received 5,000 Moderna vaccines donated by Israel in February.
