Today in Warsaw, Ambassador of Armenia to Poland Samvel Mkrtchyan, on behalf of the Embassy of Armenia, laid a wreath near the plaque dedicated to Polish jurisprudent Raphael Lemkin (RafaƂ Lemkin), who coined the term ‘genocide’ and initiated the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, the Embassy of Armenia in Poland reported.

In their speeches, those attending the ceremony commemorating Lemkin touched upon the career of the Polish lawyer, who is of Jewish descent, is known in Armenian society and whom the Armenian pay homage to. They highly appreciated his contributions to raising awareness about the Armenian Genocide and to international recognition.
