About 150 people, including children, were injured by a tornado and strong wind on Thursday in the south-east of the Czech Republic, said representative of the United Service of Rescuers and Firefighters of the Czech Republic, Hedwig Kropachkova.

Rescuers report that a total of seven settlements in the South Moravian region were affected by the tornado. People are under the ruins of residential buildings, rescue operations are underway.

Meteorologists said that areas in the southeast of the Czech Republic were conditions for a strong tornado, which is an exceptional event in the region. Rescuers, firefighters, and police were involved in the elimination of its consequences.

Representatives of the united service of rescuers and firefighters of the republic suggest that people may be under the ruins of buildings in areas of natural disaster. The amount of damage is being specified.
