Residents of Izmir on Friday night had a chance to see a meteorite fall in the sky in western Turkey, RIA Novosti reports.

The authorities have yet to comment on the assumed fall of the meteorite.

Amid the forest fires in Turkey, online users have joked about the meteorite, calling it a raid of aliens and zombies.
