Protests against the sanitary passes introduced by the decision of the French authorities in connection with the beginning of the fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic took place on Saturday in more than a hundred cities in France - from Paris to Toulon.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country, 204,000 people took part in them, Reuters reported.

Protesters injured three police officers in Paris, a police spokesman said. Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said on Twitter that 19 demonstrators were arrested, including 10 in Paris.

It was the third weekend in a row that people opposed to the new measures took to the streets, an unusual display of determination during the summer break.

A spokesman for the Interior Ministry said 204,090 demonstrators marched across France. This is about 40,000 more than last week.

Visitors attending museums, cinemas or swimming pools are already denied entry if they cannot show a health pass that shows they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 or have recently been tested.
