At least seven members—from Burundi—of the African Union peacekeeping mission have been killed in a bomb blast in southern Somalia, the Somali Guardian reported

According to the website, the homemade bomb exploded while the convoy of these peacekeepers was passing through the Mahaday town in the Middle Shabelle province.

The blast killed seven servicemen and destroyed one armored personnel carrier.
Authorities blame the Al-Shabab Islamist group for the attack.
