Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin.

As reported the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, the minister emphasized that the Armenian-Russian relations are at a high level and assured that the cooperation will continue and grow.

Ambassador Kopirkin congratulated the minister on being appointed and emphasized that Russia is on good terms with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.

The parties discussed the prospects for development of the Armenian-Russian relations and touched upon the expansion of cooperation with Rosatom, the current works for renovation and upgrading of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant and the activities of the South Caucasus Railways CJSC, underscoring its significance for Armenia’s economic development. They also touched upon the activities of Russian mining companies in Armenia, attached importance to interregional cooperation and, in this context, highlighted the importance of the interregional forum to be held in Yerevan from October 18 to 19.

The minister expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for Russia’s participation in the programs being implemented in Armenia, as well as the program being implemented in the borderline settlements of Gegharkunik and Vayots Dzor Provinces and added that these programs may help essentially change life in those settlements.
