Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan today received Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in the South Caucasus Annika Soder, as reported the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

Mirzoyan underscored the role of the OSCE as a regional organization hinged on the conception of comprehensive and cooperative security. In this context, the minister attached importance to the activities of the Co-Chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and the Personal Representative of the Chairperson-in-Office.

In the context of addressing the humanitarian issues that emerged as a result of the 44-day war, the need for the speedy repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war and civilian hostages detained in Azerbaijan was stressed.

The foreign minister emphasized that it will be possible to achieve lasting peace in the region through a comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict under the mandate of the Co-Chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group.
