President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has asked the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict not to engage in clarifying separate matters at the online conference the Council of Heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)—and which is being held Friday in the Belarusian capital Minsk.

Lukashenko took the floor immediately after Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia.

"Nikol Vovayevich [Pashinyan], you are absolutely right, the CIS is not a platform for clarifying separate matters. We do not have such powers and functions. But we are grateful that you, together with Ilham Heydarovich [Aliyev], informed the heads of [CIS member] states about the situation in your region; and our friends—both Azerbaijanis and Armenians—live there," said the president of Belarus.

Lukashenko noted that the CIS authorities will take this information into account when developing policies in their countries.

During his speech, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attacked Armenia, accusing the latter and Iran of "organizing international trafficking to Europe," refusing to hand over maps of minefields, and "vandalism and the destruction of Azerbaijani monuments and settlements."

After Aliyev, Pashinyan delivered an address and said that the platform of the heads of the CIS states is not a platform for mutual clarification of issues. In this regard, he noted that Armenia has filed lawsuits with relevant international organizations—the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague—, and that it is there that Armenia is going to voice all its accusations and substantiate its position on the Karabakh conflict.
